The Silvia Sandano International Award 
Every year, The International Silvia Sandano Award
is granted annually to a jurist who is particularly distinguished for the contribution he has made in supporting the fundamental rights of others, affirming the superior value of the law and protecting the dignity of others without discriminating against one’s creed, sex, ethnicity, language, political opinion, economical or social condition.

The Fourth International Silvia Sandano Award was given on November 6, 2009 to Claus Roxin, emeritus professor of criminal law at the University of Munich of Bavaria.
